From Our Installer's Phone
Straight from the install crew's camera rolls — every photo is a real customer of ours. We service the entire Grand Strand and the southern Brunswick County beaches: golf-cart neighborhoods, plantation communities, beach houses, condos on the boulevard.
Meet Chad & the Crew
Chad Alexander has been building shutters in the Carolinas since 1997. After watching his Charlotte customers buy up beach houses from Ocean Isle down to Myrtle Beach — and then call him to do the shutters too — he opened the Cherry Grove showroom in 2018, right next to Platt's Seafood. Same crew, same Carolina-built shutters, same handshake — just with a better view.
Chad runs the shop and personally measures most jobs. In one new-construction neighborhood in Robbers Roost alone, he's done 24+ homes — the neighbors wave him in from their golf carts. Carter, his son, is on the install crew with Matt. Jennifer designs the drapery and interior shades — pleats, headers, hardware, the whole thing — and comes out to measure and quote those jobs herself. Heather is the friendly face at the showroom. Five people you’ll know by name.

Watch Chad Work
Three short videos shot on the Grand Strand — a neighborhood ride- along, a full-home tour, and a custom marsh-side patio install. The best proof we can offer that the guy on the website is the guy who shows up at your door.
We visited the showroom, met with Chad and got a great education on plantation shutters. The products were reasonably priced — thousands less than competition — and quality is top notch. We could not be happier.
F. Boyd – Ocean Isle Beach, NC
From the first meeting in the showroom to the installation, Chad and Connie went above and beyond. They came out and measured our empty house without us being in the local area, kept us updated on the progress, and even provided pictures so we could see them before our arrival.
Lori Zinck – Out-of-Town Homeowner
My shutters and remote-controlled window shades were measured and ordered before my arrival in Little River. Everything from communication with Chad and the office staff was flawless. Definitely recommend A Shade Above Coastal.
Dottie Moser – Little River, SC
Chad Alexander did a great job from the very start. Great communication, fast delivery, and quality installation. Highly recommend A Shade Above in North Myrtle Beach.
